Lucknow. The case involving Rishabh Shukla, accused of killing three people in the Saadatganj area of Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow, has drawn attention after details of his background emerged. Rishabh, a former merchant navy officer and gold medal winner in shooting, is accused of shooting dead three members of the Tiwari family during a dispute over parking and a platform. Photographs with weapons, snakes and dogs have surfaced on his social media account.

According to media reports, Rishabh had participated in shooting competitions and had also won a gold medal. He had experience in handling weapons. Police are investigating all aspects of the case, including his connection with weapons and the weapon used during the incident. However, any conclusion about a link between his shooting training and the alleged killings can be reached only after the investigation is completed.

Several photographs and videos of Rishabh with weapons such as pistols and rifles are being reported on his Instagram account. Photographs of him with snakes and pet dogs have also surfaced. Reports said his social media account had more than about 34,000 followers. His online presence, featuring images linked to weapons and a domineering lifestyle, has become a matter of discussion. However, social media posts do not by themselves prove a person’s entire conduct or the reason for a crime.

According to police and media reports, a dispute over parking and a platform took place on October 26 in Brahmani Tola, Naubasta, in Saadatganj. During the firing, Shivaji Tiwari, his brother Shivendra alias Shambhu Tiwari and Shivaji’s son Suyash Tiwari died. It is alleged that after the firing, Rishabh remained seated outside the house with a weapon and threatened those who came to help the injured. Police arrested him from the spot.

Police have also arrested Rishabh’s father Dinesh, uncles Satish and Girish, and sisters Priya and Aditi. Meanwhile, the Lucknow Development Authority took action against the alleged illegal portion of the accused’s house. After the incident, questions were also raised over the role of the police, following which the station house officer concerned and the outpost in-charge were suspended and an inquiry was ordered. Further investigation is expected to clarify the full circumstances of the incident and the role of each accused.
