CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Gold and silver prices declined in the Indian futures market on Monday, September 21. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, or MCX, gold prices fell by about ₹1,331 per 10 grams, while silver also recorded a decline.
After two days of gains in the market, profit-booking by investors put pressure on precious metals. According to market reports, after the decline in October gold futures on MCX, the price was seen trading around ₹1.53-1.54 lakh per 10 grams. December silver futures also remained weak, with the price hovering around ₹2.40 lakh per kilogram. Prices continued to fluctuate at different times.
According to experts, tensions between the United States and Iran in the international market, inflation and uncertainty over interest rates affected precious metals. Changes in US bond yields are also influencing gold and silver prices.
However, gold and silver rates keep changing continuously. In the local bullion market, the final price paid by customers may differ from MCX or IBJA rates because of GST, making charges and other costs.
