CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Governor Mangubhai Patel inaugurated a comprehensive study on oral hygiene and oral cancer prepared by the Department of Dentistry at AIIMS Bhopal. This study, conducted over two years, covered approximately 50,000 patients from 41 districts of Madhya Pradesh.
The study compiled significant information on the prevalence of oral hygiene and oral cancer, risk factors, and various patterns. Additionally, it provided an in-depth analysis of the spread of oral diseases and the causes behind the rising cases of oral cancer across different demographic groups. Based on this extensive data, AIIMS Bhopal has made several crucial recommendations for improving oral health and preventing oral cancer.
Honorable Governor Mangubhai Patel praised AIIMS Bhopal’s commendable research efforts, stating, “The dedication and detailed approach with which AIIMS Bhopal has conducted this study is truly praiseworthy. Oral hygiene is often overlooked, but it is extremely important for overall health. This study will not only enhance our understanding of oral health but also help in formulating strategies to prevent oral cancer in rural areas.
