CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bhopal, 20 February 2026: The three-day annual cultural festival “Opacity’26, Raaste” at the National Institute of Design, Madhya Pradesh (NID MP) was inaugurated today in a vibrant and grand atmosphere. Held from 20th to 22nd February, the first day of the festival showcased an impressive confluence of creativity, culture, sports, and art.

The program began at 11:00 AM in the main auditorium with the inauguration ceremony. Following the traditional Saraswati Vandana, the festival was formally inaugurated with a ceremonial lamp lighting. In the inaugural session, the institute’s Director, Dr. Vidya Rakesh, encouraged students to move forward with creativity, innovation, and collaboration, stating that Opacity provides a powerful platform for youth to showcase their talents.

At 1:00 PM, a Design Talk was conducted under the auspices of the Association of Designers of India (ADI). Mr. Wasim Khan, Director of Lemon Design Private Limited, Pune, shared insights on the contemporary design landscape and career opportunities. Simultaneously, various sports competitions were held across the campus, in which students participated with enthusiasm.

At 4:00 PM, the “Motion Blur” dance competition thrilled the audience with energetic team performances. This was followed by a theatrical presentation by the “Natak Company” at 6:00 PM, which effectively explored social themes through impactful acting.

From 7:00 PM, a musical evening featured performances by local and student artists, filling the campus with melodies. Food stalls and art-craft stalls also drew significant attention. From 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM, a “Hunting the Heavens” telescopic sky-gazing session was held, which participants described as both informative and thrilling.

Over the next two days of the festival, fashion shows, open mic sessions, DJ nights, and several other cultural and entertainment programs will take place. According to the organizers, Opacity’26 not only provides a stage for students’ talent but also promotes community participation and cultural enrichment.
