Indian bowlers produced an impressive performance in the second ODI between India and New Zealand being played in Wellington. The New Zealand team kept losing wickets against the Indian attack. Gurnoor Brar increased the hosts’ problems by taking wickets at crucial moments. He dismissed Nathan Smith to hand New Zealand their ninth setback.

Rain delayed the start of play in the match, after which it was reduced to 47 overs a side. Indian captain Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to bowl first. India’s bowlers kept the New Zealand batters under pressure from the start. Auqib Nabi pushed the hosts onto the back foot with two wickets in the early overs, while Anshul Kamboj sent Henry Nicholls back to the pavilion.

Gurnoor Brar also troubled the batters with his pace bowling. He dismissed Tom Latham and Glenn Phillips in successive overs to deal a major blow to New Zealand’s innings. Both batters were caught while trying to play pull shots against short balls. After that, the Indian bowlers continued taking wickets.

India had won the first ODI by five wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. In the second match as well, the Indian team is looking to strengthen its position in the series by restricting New Zealand to a low total. The score in the live match may change further.
