CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of Guru Purnima, a lecture on the topic “The Glory of the Guru in Human Life” was organized at Babulal Gaur Government Postgraduate College, BHEL, Bhopal. The keynote speaker was Dr. Rohitashva Sharma, Principal of PM College of Excellence, Government Chandrashekhar Azad PG College, Sehore.
In his address, Dr. Sharma stated that a mother is the first guru of a human being, as she continues to give selflessly throughout life. Her spirit of dedication must be acknowledged and embraced. He emphasized that no creature is greater than a human, and as we think, so we become—hence, we always need a guru for guidance.
He explained that Guru Purnima marks the birth anniversary of Maharshi Vyasa, whose Puranas embody the essence of Indian character. “Whatever exists in India is already present in the Mahabharata,” he remarked. At the right time, we need the guru’s guidance to make the right decisions. The company of a guru acts like a philosopher’s stone. One should always uphold the duty of a disciple toward the guru, as it leads to one’s ultimate welfare.

Dr. Sharma also highlighted the glory of the guru through the lives of several great personalities such as Dadhichi, Tulsidas, Ahilyabai Holkar, Alexander the Great, Tolstoy, Socrates, Tatya Tope, Swami Vivekananda, Bhagat Singh, and Lata Mangeshkar.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Principal Sanjay Jain welcomed the chief guest and speaker, Dr. Sharma, with a shawl, coconut, and bouquet. In his address, he said that a guru imparts knowledge with impartiality to all, but it is the true disciple who attains success more quickly.

Ramakant Tiwari, expressing his thoughts, stated that even Lord Rama remembered his guru Vishwamitra during times of difficulty and succeeded by following his advice—the Sita Swayamvar being a living example of this.
On this occasion, all the teachers present were honored.
The program was conducted by Dr. Samta Jain, Convenor of the Bharatiya Gyan Parampara Cell, and Shreya Vishwakarma expressed the vote of thanks. The event was coordinated by Sheela Kumar.
The program was attended by alumni like Tejsingh Thakur, Kartar Singh Nagar, Manju Yadav, as well as Ritika Thakur, Khushi Nagar, Tanishka, other students, and the entire teaching and non-teaching staff.
