On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, a special program was organized at Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University. Along with this, the contact classes for the M.Ed. Special Education program were also inaugurated.

The event witnessed the participation of M.Ed. Special Education students, university staff, faculty members, and officials. Held in the university’s auditorium, the program commenced with a live broadcast of the state-level Guru Purnima event organized by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, where Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav made several important announcements for the benefit of school education and students.
Following this, the Guru Purnima celebration at the university began, where various faculty members and gurus shared their emotional and inspiring thoughts on the significance of the day. Students of the M.Ed. Special Education program also presented special performances during the event.

Addressing the audience, Dr. Hemant Keswal, Head of the Department of Special Education, expressed his happiness over the commencement of the first batch of contact classes for M.Ed. Special Education on such an auspicious occasion. He advised the students to cultivate discipline, patience, and progressive thinking.
Dr. Keswal emphasized that these contact sessions would focus on developing various skills through interaction and practical training, with the dual aim of delivering academic excellence and holistic human development. He remarked that every teacher aspires to become a Guru, and for that, one must strive for the highest development of one’s personality.

Vibha Mishra, Director of the Printing and Distribution Department, stated that a Guru is someone who introduces us to ourselves. From childhood under a mother’s guidance to mentorship throughout life, we are guided by many individuals who serve as gurus in different forms.
Presiding over the event, University Registrar Sushil Manderia said that the objective of celebrating Guru Purnima is to revive the Guru-Shishya tradition. He highlighted the crucial role of a Guru in shaping a successful personality, and mentioned that even today, we acquire technological knowledge from the younger generation, and they too should be respected as modern-day Gurus.

He advised the M.Ed. students to uphold the Guru-Shishya tradition through distance education by remaining consistently connected with their mentors and continuing their learning journey.
The program was conducted and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Ratan Suryavanshi, Director of the Student Support Services.
