CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Guru Purnima and Guru Samman Festival Celebrated at Sarojini Naidu Government Autonomous Girls’ Postgraduate College

Under the joint aegis of the Indian Knowledge Tradition Cell and Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, Guru Purnima and Guru Samman Festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Sarojini Naidu Government Autonomous Girls’ PG College.

On this sacred occasion, the chief guests were Dr. Vinod Shukla (Retired Professor and Former Additional Director, Higher Education) and Dr. Radhavallabh Sharma (Former Additional Director, Higher Education). The program began with the lighting of the lamp before Goddess Saraswati and the chanting of the “Dhyeya Vakya” from the Vishnu Purana.

A devotional Guru Vandana was performed by student Tanya Sharma, followed by floral tributes to the idol of Goddess Saraswati and Vedic scriptures, marking the grand beginning of the event.

The chief guests and key speakers, who as Gurus are spreading the light of knowledge, were honored with shawls and coconuts. The college’s energetic and creative Principal, Dr. Deepti Srivastava, was also honored by Sanjana Sharma, Coordinator of the Indian Knowledge Tradition Cell.

In her welcome address, the Principal highlighted the importance of Guru Purnima and the Guru tradition.

Dr. Vinod Shukla, the keynote speaker, reflected on ancient Indian culture and remembered Maharshi Vyasa, emphasizing the significance of celebrating Guru Purnima.

Dr. Radhavallabh Sharma, the chief guest, spoke about the Vyas Peeth (Guru’s Seat), the Guru-Shishya tradition, and the need for moral values and character building in today’s education system.

The event was coordinated by Ashok Nema, Co-convener, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Sanjana Sharma, Convener of the Indian Tradition Cell.

Notable attendees included Dr. P.K. Khare (Founder & Advisor of the Cell), and organizing members Neha Khare and Nishi Sharma.

On this auspicious day of Guru Purnima, a large number of teachers, staff, and students of the college were present to participate in the celebration.
