CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Aam Aadmi Party’s Delhi unit president Saurabh Bharadwaj has made a major claim regarding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Bharadwaj said that, according to one of his sources, Gyanesh Kumar may resign from his post before October 10. However, this claim has not yet been independently confirmed, and no official announcement regarding any resignation has been issued by the Election Commission.

The claim has emerged at a time when opposition parties and the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) are holding protests demanding Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation. CJP has announced a major agitation at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on October 10. The organisation’s leader Abhijit Dipke has said that if Gyanesh Kumar does not resign, supporters from across the country will reach Delhi.

The key issue in the controversy is the opposition’s objections to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll and the functioning of the Election Commission. Opposition parties are raising questions over alleged irregularities in the election process and voter lists. On the other hand, the Election Commission has denied these allegations, describing the SIR as a process to update the electoral roll.

AAP has also stepped up organisational preparations for the proposed October 10 agitation. Saurabh Bharadwaj has held a meeting with party leaders to discuss the strategy for the protest.
