CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the guidance of Executive Director Dr. Ajay Singh, AIIMS Bhopal is organizing the “Swachhta Pakhwada” campaign until April 15, 2025. This initiative is a key effort by the Government of India aimed at realizing Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a clean and healthy India.
As part of this campaign, a special hand hygiene training program was organized for the institute’s housekeeping and security staff. The objective of this training was to raise awareness about the importance of hand hygiene and to help prevent the spread of infections within the hospital.
During the training session, participants were educated on proper handwashing techniques, including the six steps recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), along with basic infection control principles. Trainers conducted practical demonstrations to ensure that all staff not only understood the hygiene standards but also adopted them in their daily routines.
On the occasion, Prof. Ajay Singh stated, “Hand hygiene plays a critical role in infection prevention. This program not only sensitizes our staff to better healthcare standards but also marks a significant step toward ensuring patient safety. It is essential to embed a culture of cleanliness at every level of the institution to build a safe and healthy environment.”
Institute officials also emphasized the importance of cleanliness, stating that cleanliness is not merely a campaign but a continuous practice that every employee must integrate into their behavior. This initiative by AIIMS Bhopal highlights the institute’s commitment to not only maintaining cleanliness in the hospital premises but also prioritizing the safety of both patients and staff.
