CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Hanuman Ansh made waves on Thursday, while Toxic struggled.

Amid big-budget films at the box office, a low-budget film is continuing to surprise. Based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, “Hanuman Ansh” delivered strong earnings on its 28th day of release, its fourth Thursday. Meanwhile, the pace of Yash’s “Toxic” and Emraan Hashmi’s “Awarapan 2” appears to be slowing sharply.

According to early figures from Sacnilk, “Hanuman Ansh” earned around ₹11 crore on its 28th day of release. With this, the film’s total net collection in India has reached about ₹72.88 crore. The film began at a very slow pace, but its popularity among audiences rose rapidly from the third week. The rising demand for the film can be gauged from the fact that its shows and screens are being increased continuously. According to reports, the film is now getting around 1,500 screens, and preparations are being made to release it in international markets from September 11.

Yash-starrer “Toxic” had made a strong start at the time of its release, with its worldwide opening reported at around ₹150 crore. However, after the initial phase, the film’s earnings have shown a steady decline. Owing to rising demand, “Hanuman Ansh” began getting additional shows, while the screen count for “Toxic” has been decreasing.

Emraan Hashmi’s “Awarapan 2” is also seen struggling at the box office. According to early figures, the film earned around ₹40 lakh on its 21st day of release, its third Thursday. With this, the film’s 21-day net collection in India is reported to be about ₹149.75 crore.

The most notable aspect of “Hanuman Ansh” is its low budget and its ability to remain in cinemas for an extended run. Despite getting fewer shows initially, audience response and word of mouth gave the film fresh momentum. It now appears to be leaving big-budget, star-led films behind in several respects. For now, the growing box office earnings of “Hanuman Ansh” have shown that strong audience connect and positive response can completely change the picture of a film’s early performance.
