CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The film “Hanuman Ansh”, based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba and his spiritual teachings, is achieving far greater success at the box office than expected. Made on a budget of around Rs 2 crore, the film crossed the Rs 250 crore mark worldwide by its 38th day. According to reports, its worldwide collection has reached around Rs 268 crore.
What makes the film notable is that, instead of relying on a major Bollywood star, it places Neem Karoli Baba’s life, spiritual journey and teachings at the centre of the story. After a slow start in the initial days of release, positive audience response gave steady momentum to the film’s earnings.
“Hanuman Ansh” has been directed by Vishal Chaturvedi. Shobhinav Satya plays the role of Neem Karoli Baba in the film. The extraordinary earnings of this low-budget film have placed it among Bollywood’s most talked-about surprise hits.
The success of the film also indicates that there is significant audience interest in films built around strong storytelling and spiritual themes. Social media and word of mouth have also played an important role in increasing the film’s popularity.
