CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Amid the success of ‘Hanuman Ansh’, a film based on the life and spiritual journey of Neem Karoli Baba, director Vishal Chaturvedi has shared his struggle in making the film and his experience of alleged rejection by an OTT platform. He said the journey of making the film lasted nearly 14 years.

According to Vishal Chaturvedi, he had approached a major OTT platform with the film’s story. While narrating Maharaj ji’s story there, he said he felt emotional. The director said the language and manner in which the film was rejected felt insulting to him. He said rejection is normal for filmmakers, but the way disagreement is expressed is important.

The film also began on a very limited scale. According to reports, ‘Hanuman Ansh’, released on August 7, 2026, earned around Rs 10 lakh on its first day, but audience response grew in the following weeks. The film performed strongly at the box office and began to be discussed across the country. Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the film focuses on the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba. After the film’s success, the director’s earlier struggle and the OTT rejection have also become a topic of discussion.
