CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A nearly 170-year-old idol of Lord Hanuman in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain has become the centre of attention during a road-widening project. The temple located in the Sati Gate area was removed for the road-widening work, but the administration’s efforts to shift the idol to another place have not succeeded. Several attempts were made with the help of heavy machinery and cranes, but the idol did not move from its place.
It is being said that four attempts have been made in the past few days to relocate the idol. After the unsuccessful efforts, the administration has for now stopped the use of heavy machines and is considering getting experts to examine the idol’s base and the surrounding structure. A temporary canopy has also been installed to protect the idol from rain and possible damage. Following the incident, a large number of devotees are reaching the spot. Many devotees are linking it to faith and the will of Lord Hanuman, while the administration will decide further action keeping security and technical aspects in mind. The road-widening work is also linked to preparations for Simhastha 2028.
