CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: England captain Harry Brook produced a blistering batting display in the first T20 International against Sri Lanka, reaching his century in just 42 balls. Brook hit 10 fours and six sixes in his innings and remained unbeaten until the end. He scored 114 runs off 49 balls.

Brook had completed his half-century in only 20 balls. He then continued his aggressive batting and reached his hundred by taking two runs in the 18th over. This was his second century in T20 International cricket.

Jos Buttler also played an excellent innings alongside Brook. Buttler scored 80 runs off 44 balls. The pair added 128 runs for the second wicket. England posted a huge total of 254/4 in the stipulated 20 overs.

Chasing the target, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 135 in 19 overs. England won the match by 119 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Brook was named Player of the Match for his outstanding innings.
