India defeated Pakistan by 19 runs in the title clash played on October 3 to win the gold medal. For Pakistan, Hasan Nawaz played a brilliant innings of 96 runs off 51 balls, but his effort could not take the team to victory.

Speaking to the media, Nawaz said he remains disappointed and hurt at not being able to win the final. He admitted that Pakistan made some small mistakes during the match and the team had to pay the price for them. According to Nawaz, he believed Pakistan could win the contest and he was batting according to his plan.

Nawaz described the Indian team as the world’s No. 1 side and said playing against it is always challenging. He expressed satisfaction with his innings, but called the defeat in the final disappointing. He also said Pakistan must learn from its mistakes and perform better in the future against a strong team like India.
