CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In a significant legal development, the Karnataka High Court has directed Bengaluru police not to harass Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal and other company officials in connection with an abetment to suicide case. The case was registered following the tragic death of a 38-year-old employee, who allegedly named Aggarwal and Subrat Kumar Dash, the head of the vehicle homologation department, in a 28-page suicide note. The note accused the company leadership of workplace harassment and withholding of salary and incentives.

Aggarwal and Dash approached the court on October 14, seeking to quash the case and prevent any coercive actions during the investigation. Justice Mohammad Nawaz, hearing the petition, emphasized that the police must not harass the petitioners under the guise of an investigation. The court issued notices to the police and the brother of the deceased employee, who had filed the complaint.

The case has drawn significant attention to workplace harassment issues and the responsibilities of corporate leadership in ensuring a supportive work environment.
