CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the leadership of the Chief Medical and Health Officer, Bhopal, and in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation, health camps at garbage transfer stations have benefited 1,734 sanitation workers through various healthcare services. The camps were first launched at the Adampur processing site and have since been organized at multiple locations, including Dana Pani Transfer Station, Jatkhedi, Bhadbhada Transfer Station, Baba Nagar Shahpura, Kajlikheda, Shahjahani Transfer Station, Rajendra Nagar Transfer Station, Bairagarh Transfer Station, Eidgah Transfer Station, Govindpura Transfer Station, and Arif Nagar Transfer Station. The camps will continue until March 5.

Bhopal has 15 garbage transfer stations, and health camps are being held at each site for two consecutive days. This is the first time that comprehensive health checkups are being provided at all these locations. In addition to sanitation workers, their families and local residents are also receiving benefits from various health services.

Healthcare Services Offered at the Camps:

Health check-ups, free medical tests, and medication distribution

Screening for non-communicable diseases (NCDs)

ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) ID and Ayushman Card registration

Eye check-ups via mobile eye vans

Free eyeglasses for those in need

So far, 988 people have undergone eye examinations, revealing 37 cases of cataracts and 54 cases of other eye diseases, all of whom have been identified for treatment and surgery. Additionally, 342 individuals have received free eyeglasses.

Out of 1,394 blood pressure tests, 163 people were diagnosed with high blood pressure. Similarly, 1,314 people underwent diabetes tests, with 62 individuals found to have elevated blood sugar levels. These patients have been advised on treatment, lifestyle changes, and dietary modifications, and they have been linked to nearby healthcare centers for regular follow-ups.

Moreover, 33 Ayushman Cards and 283 ABHA IDs have been issued through these camps.

According to Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari, Chief Medical and Health Officer, Bhopal, these health camps are organized in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation to provide medical check-ups and treatment to drivers, helpers, ragpickers, and sanitation workers. Additionally, these camps extend healthcare services to the local residents and families of sanitation workers, ensuring a wider community benefit.
