CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: As part of the ongoing ‘Nirogi Kaya Abhiyan’ running until March 31, a two-day health check-up camp was organized at the Secretariat, where 521 officers and employees underwent medical examinations. The camp included screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, breast cancer, oral cancer, and cervical cancer.

Officials and employees working in the Secretariat enthusiastically participated in the screenings, contributing to awareness and vigilance against these diseases.

On this occasion, Saloni Sidana, Mission Director, National Health Mission, said that the Government of India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is conducting the Nirogi Kaya Abhiyan to ensure the early detection of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). She emphasized that by staying health-conscious, undergoing regular check-ups, and improving lifestyle habits, such diseases can be managed effectively.

The camp was organized by the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO), Bhopal, under the initiative of the National Health Mission. The camp was conducted under the guidance of Sanjay Dubey, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of General Administration. Special support was extended by Additional Secretary Shailbala Martin, Under Secretary Manoj Srivastava, and Director Dhurve.

Medical examinations were conducted by Ankit Sharma, Rohit Srivastava, Shivangi Dixit, and Deepti Hurade. The coordination of the health camp was managed by District Health Officer Manoj Hurmade and District Program Manager Anita Dugaya.

A total of 317 individuals underwent liver scans using a FibroScan machine, while 521 people were screened for non-communicable diseases, including 148 women and 373 men. For pathology tests, samples were collected from 424 individuals. Additionally, oral cancer screenings were conducted for 146 individuals, with no symptoms detected in any of them.

Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari, Chief Medical and Health Officer, Bhopal, stated that regular screening for non-communicable diseases is crucial to detect illnesses at an early stage and begin timely treatment.

Under the Nirogi Kaya Abhiyan, individuals above 30 years of age are being screened for diabetes, hypertension, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, oral cancer, breast cancer, and cervical cancer. These screenings are being provided free of cost at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Primary Health Centers, Mukhyamantri Sanjeevani Clinics, civil dispensaries, community health centers, civil hospitals, and district hospitals.
