In Kotdwar on Friday, torrential rain and strong winds uprooted trees at several places. A tree that fell on Devi Road damaged the car of a municipal corporation junior engineer and an e-rickshaw. Waterlogging in several areas also affected movement.
Vehicles damaged by hail in Haridwar
In Haridwar, large hailstones fell along with heavy rain on October 9. The hailstorm broke the glass of several vehicles and houses. There were also reports of damage to crops and solar panels. People faced difficulties due to the sudden change in weather.
Floodwater reaches 40,000 homes in Lucknow
In Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow, flood-like conditions persist due to the rising water level of the Gomti river and heavy rain in the upper catchment areas. According to reports, about 40,000 homes in the city have been affected. Waterlogging in several low-lying areas has affected people’s movement, electricity supply and access to essential services. Relief and rescue support remains needed at the local level.
Rain raises concerns in Bihar districts
Rain and flood-related problems have also been reported in Bihar. In several districts of the state, rising river levels and waterlogging have increased difficulties for residents. Appeal to remain alert
