Hollywood actress Gal Gadot has spoken openly about her popular character ‘Wonder Woman’ and her future with DC Studios. In a recent interview, she said she was initially told that ‘Wonder Woman 3’ would be developed with her, but circumstances later changed.

Gadot said on the podcast Happy Sad Confused that DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran had spoken to her about developing the third film. However, she said she made a decision about her future after seeing how the studio dealt with Henry Cavill and director Patty Jenkins.

Speaking about Cavill, Gadot said Henry Cavill’s case was not handled in a graceful manner. Cavill returned as Superman in ‘Black Adam’ in 2022 and later announced his comeback. But after changes in the DC Universe, the studio chose David Corenswet as the new Superman, and Cavill did not return.

Gadot also referred to the developments involving director Patty Jenkins. According to her, the situation with Jenkins, too, could have been handled better. Gadot said that after watching these events, she decided for herself whether she would continue playing ‘Wonder Woman’ in the future.

‘Wonder Woman 3’ was earlier in development with the return of Gadot and Patty Jenkins, but after the restructuring of the DC Universe under James Gunn and Peter Safran, the project could not move forward. There is now speculation that a new actress may play the character of ‘Wonder Woman’ in the new DC Universe.

Gadot, however, showed a positive attitude toward a new actor taking on the role. She said she wants whichever actress next plays ‘Wonder Woman’ to enjoy the journey of this iconic character.
