CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of “World Heritage Day,” the Indian Postal Department will organize a ‘Heritage Walk’ on 18th April 2025. The walk will begin at 6:00 AM from Kamla Park and will end at the Bhopal GPO, passing through Gauhar Mahal and Moti Masjid.

Employees of the Indian Postal Department will participate in this walk, which will be flagged off by the Chief Postmaster General, Madhya Pradesh Postal Circle Director, Vineet Mathur. On this occasion, a ‘Special Cancellation Stamp’ focusing on the heritage of Gauhar Mahal, Bhopal, will be issued.

As we know, the purpose of this day is to spread awareness about the preservation and promotion of cultural, historical, and natural heritage around the world. This day inspires understanding the significance of UNESCO-designated World Heritage Sites and encourages their conservation.

The theme for this year is “Cultural Heritage and Climate Change.” This theme emphasizes how our heritage is being affected by the impacts of climate change and the need for collective efforts to preserve it.

The objective of the walk organized by the Postal Department is to raise awareness about the respect and preservation of our cultural heritage, among both departmental employees and the general public.
