CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Herman Kruis, the High-Performance Director of Hockey India, visited Gwalior to review the arrangements at the M.P. State Women’s Hockey Academy. It is noteworthy that 67-year-old Herman Kruis is originally from the Netherlands and is considered one of the most prestigious coaches in the world.

He served as the head coach of the Netherlands women’s hockey team from 2006 to 2008 and was the coach of the Belarus hockey team from 2016 to 2023. In 2023, Hockey India appointed Herman as a coach. He has also coached the Indian team in the Junior World Cup in Malaysia and Chile.

During his two-day visit to Gwalior, he closely observed the training of the female players at the Gwalior Academy. He also reviewed the facilities provided to the players at the Gwalior Women’s Hockey Academy and offered them several valuable tips. Additionally, he provided suggestions for further improving the Gwalior Women’s Hockey Academy. He praised the available facilities generously.

It is worth mentioning that the Gwalior Women’s Hockey Academy was established in 2006. The players from the academy have earned several national and international medals for the state. The players from the Gwalior Sports Academy also participated in the Rio and Tokyo Olympics.
