CNN Central News and Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the second day of the 48th National Arm Wrestling Championship 2026, organised by the Arm Wrestling Association Madhya Pradesh at LNCT University, Kolar Road, Bhopal, players from across the country delivered impressive performances and entertained the spectators. Bouts were held in various age and weight categories, in which competitors showcased excellent strength, technique and sporting skill.

Anand Prasad Sharma, Secretary, Arm Wrestling Association Madhya Pradesh, said around 250 players and officials from 12 states are participating in the competition. He said players from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Punjab dominated the second day's matches.

In the sub-junior boys' under-50 kg right-hand event, Kuldeep of Uttar Pradesh won the gold medal and secured first place. Armaan Khan of Jammu and Kashmir finished second, while Jashandeep came third. In the under-55 kg category, Adnan Khan of Jammu and Kashmir won the gold medal. In the under-60 kg right-hand category, Vinay of Uttar Pradesh won gold, Aryan took silver, and Anish Raj of Jammu and Kashmir claimed bronze.

In the youth men's +55 kg right-hand event, Madhya Pradesh's Himanshu Ghusar produced an excellent performance to win the gold medal. Irshad Ahmad of Jammu and Kashmir took silver, while Mohammad Shadab won bronze. In the +90 kg category, Shreyansh Kumar of Uttar Pradesh finished first and Madhav Kataria came second.

In the senior men's under-55 kg right-hand event, Madhya Pradesh's Himanshu Ghusar once again proved his superiority by winning the gold medal. Abhimanyu of Uttar Pradesh took silver, while Vishal won bronze.

In the under-65 kg right-hand category, Mohammad Hasan won the gold medal, while Ajay Pal Singh of Uttar Pradesh took silver and Dharmendra Singh of Jammu and Kashmir secured bronze.

In the under-80 kg category, Akash Kumar of Jammu and Kashmir won the gold medal, while Yashwant of Uttar Pradesh received the silver medal.

Uttar Pradesh players dominated the under-90 kg category. Himanshu Yadav won gold, Nishant Sharma secured silver, and Inzamam-ul-Haq claimed bronze.

In the master men's 60 kg right-hand event, Dinesh Kumar of Punjab won the gold medal, while Deepak Jain of Uttar Pradesh finished second.

In the grand master men's category, Dalbir Singh Chahar of Uttar Pradesh won the gold medal to assert his superiority. Sameer Pal of Uttar Pradesh took silver, while Krishna Avatar Gupta of Jammu and Kashmir received bronze.

The biggest achievement of the second day belonged to Himanshu Ghusar, a player from the LNCT University School of Physical Education. Himanshu achieved double success by winning gold medals in the youth men's (+55 kg right hand) and senior men's (under-55 kg right hand) categories, giving Madhya Pradesh a golden start. The LNCT University family, sports lovers and the Arm Wrestling Association Madhya Pradesh expressed खुशी over his achievement and congratulated him.

In the coming days, more contests will be held in the junior, senior, master and दिव्यांग categories. Players from across the country are competing for the national title, making the matches highly exciting and of a high standard.
