CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: As per the directions of the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and the orders of the Ministry of Railways (Railway Recruitment Board), “Rajbhasha Week – 2026” was inaugurated at the Railway Recruitment Board, Bhopal. The week will run from September 7, 2026, to September 14, 2026.

On the first day, a Hindi essay competition was organised on the topic “The role of social media in the use and promotion of Official Language Hindi”. All railway employees of the office participated enthusiastically and resolved to conduct their daily official work throughout the year in Official Language Hindi.

On the same day, a review meeting of the “Official Language Implementation Committee” for the quarter ended June 2026 was held under the chairmanship of committee chairperson and head of office Rashmi Diwakar. At the outset, Liaison Official Language Officer and Secretary, Railway Recruitment Board, Anil Kumar Sinha briefed the committee chairperson and all committee members about the meeting. Thereafter, Nirish Kumar Rajput, Member Secretary, Railway Recruitment Board, Bhopal, welcomed Rashmi Diwakar by presenting her with a sapling.

In her presidential address, committee chairperson Rashmi Diwakar said Indian Railways is the lifeline of the country and language has great importance in establishing direct communication with the public. She said that being an office related to the recruitment process in a vast organisation such as Indian Railways makes its role even more sensitive and important, as it has a direct connection with youth and examinees across the country. In such a situation, using Official Language Hindi in office work is not only a moral duty but also a constitutional responsibility, she said.

Hindi can bind the entire country together, Rashmi Diwakar says

She said Hindi is the only strong medium through which services can reach the public with ease and simplicity. Extending advance greetings to everyone on Hindi Diwas, she said, “Hindi is the language that can bind the entire country together.”

During the meeting, a workshop was organised on the topic “Use of Latin terminology in office work”, in which 12 officers and employees of the office participated enthusiastically. Useful information was shared in the workshop regarding terminology used in official work and the use of simple Hindi.

At the end of the programme, the meeting was conducted and the vote of thanks was delivered by Rakesh Kumar Malviya, Senior Translator.

Under Rajbhasha Week – 2026, various competitions, workshops and other programmes will be organised at the Railway Recruitment Board, Bhopal. Their objective is to promote the use of Hindi in official work and to increase awareness and interest among officers and employees towards the Official Language.
