CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti and Hindi Bhavan Nyas, Bhopal, organised a pledge ceremony on the occasion of Hindi Day at the Hindi Bhavan premises. Writers, Hindi workers and prominent citizens present at the programme resolved to make maximum use of the Hindi language in daily life. They also took a pledge to sign their names in Hindi and to make Hindi the language of conduct and official work.
The programme was presided over by former Rajya Sabha MP Raghunandan Sharma, while MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani was present as the chief guest. On the occasion, the bhoomi pujan for the work of laying paving blocks at Hindi Bhavan Nyas was also performed.
The bhoomi pujan was conducted in due form by Bhagwandas Sabnani, Raghunandan Sharma and Vikas Dave, minister-director of the Madhya Pradesh Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti.
Addressing the programme, Raghunandan Sharma said Hindi is not merely a medium of communication, but the language of our culture, sensitivity and national consciousness. He said respect for Hindi would be meaningful only when people adopt it naturally in their daily conduct.
Chief guest Bhagwandas Sabnani said emotional insistence alone is not enough for Hindi; people must increase the use of Hindi in their personal and public lives. He said the real purpose of Hindi Day would be fulfilled only when Hindi becomes a natural part of people’s behaviour and work culture.
Vikas Dave, minister-director of the Madhya Pradesh Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti, said respect for language should not remain limited to events and slogans. He said people’s commitment to Hindi should be visible in their conduct, signatures, office work and daily life. He added that continuous efforts are necessary to make Hindi the practical language of the masses.
On the occasion, discussions were also held on various issues aimed at accelerating work related to the development and preservation of the Hindi Bhavan premises. A large number of Hindi workers, writers and prominent citizens were present at the programme.
