CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The concluding ceremony of the Hindi Fortnight being organised at ICMR-Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC), Bhopal, was held at the institute. The chief guest at the programme was Rajesh Kumar, Income Tax Commissioner, Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Senior poet and litterateur Savita was conferred a literary honour at the programme. The event was chaired by BMHRC officiating director Manisha Srivastava. NARAKAS No. 3 member secretary and Deputy Director (Official Language) Anil Tripathi, and BMHRC officiating medical superintendent Anurag Yadav were present as special guests.

The main attraction of the ceremony was the presentation of the “Sahitya-Shri” honour to senior poet and litterateur Savita Bhargav for her notable contribution to Hindi literature. For the past four years, BMHRC has been presenting the “Sahitya-Shri” honour to writers who have made significant contributions in the field of Hindi literature.

Savita Bhargav is currently professor and head of the Hindi department at Maharani Laxmibai Postgraduate Autonomous Government College, Bhopal. She has received a D.Litt. degree in Hindi literature. Three of her poetry collections – “Kiska Hai Aasman”, “Apne Aakash Mein” and “Thami Hui Barish Mein Dopahar” – have been published. In addition, her novel “Jahaz Paanch Pal Wala” and critical works “Kaviyon Ke Kavi Shamsher” and “Kavita Ki Loktantrik Dishayen” have also been published.

At the end of the programme, gratitude was expressed on behalf of the Hindi Fortnight organising committee. BMHRC officers, employees and students were present at the ceremony.
