CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the joint auspices of Vishwa Rang Foundation, Tagore International Hindi Centre, Department of Hindi, and Rabindranath Tagore University, the grand inauguration of Hindi Fortnight – 2025 took place. On this occasion, the poster of Vishwa Rang Sri Lanka 2025 was also unveiled. This event will be held on 29–30 September in Colombo (Sri Lanka) with the collaboration of the Indian High Commission, where writers, professors, and students from South and Southeast Asian countries will participate.
Chancellor of Rabindranath Tagore University and Director of Vishwa Rang, Santosh Choubey, said that the development of Hindi is only possible in harmony with Indian languages and dialects. He emphasized linking the language with skill development and the global market. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ravi Prakash Dubey described the international symposium as a major achievement for Hindi on the occasion of Hindi Diwas.
The program featured reflections from several scholars including Rita Kaushal from Australia, Padma Weerasinghe and Atila Kotalawala from Sri Lanka, Dr. Vandana Mukesh Sharma from London, and Dr. K.C. Ajay Kumar from India. The speakers highlighted the prospects of Hindi in teaching, cultural integration, linguistic exchange, and employment generation. On this occasion, several books including Tagore: A Biography, Kalidas, and Paradesia were also released.
An international symposium on the theme “The Global Perspective of Hindi: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow” was organized, with active participation from scholars from India, Australia, Britain, and Sri Lanka. The university’s journals Vanmali Katha, Rang Samvad, and Electroniki Aapke Liye were also launched. The inaugural welcome address was delivered by Dr. Sangeeta Johri, the program was conducted by Arun Pandey, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Ruchi Mishra Tiwari.
Patriotic songs presented during the program created an emotional atmosphere. The event proved to be a symbol of Hindi’s global importance and its growing acceptance worldwide.
