CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In her lecture, Dubey said language is not only an expression of our thoughts but also of our culture. A language that becomes a bridge of communication between people speaking different languages is called a link language.
She said no language can become a national language unless the people who speak it adopt it with willpower. She explained this with an effective example, saying that the President of Turkey, during a meeting with his subordinate members, asked how long it would take for their language to become the national language. The members replied that it would take at least 10 years. The President, showing his willpower, responded that they should then consider that nine years and 364 days had already passed, meaning Turkish would be adopted as the national language from the next day. In this way, the workshop session proved highly awareness-building and inspirational.
Message: Taking pride in one’s language and using it with pride will not only protect the language but also promote and enrich our culture. At the end of the workshop, Senior Assistant Director Prabhash Kumar Jha proposed the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to the guest speaker.
