CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Hockey India on Saturday announced a 65-member probable core group for the upcoming Senior Women’s National Coaching Camp. The camp will commence on March 23, 2025, at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) facility in Bengaluru.
The group was selected based on performances at the 15th Hockey India Senior Women’s National Championship, recently concluded in Panchkula, where Hockey Jharkhand defeated Hockey Haryana in a shootout to clinch the title.
Out of the 65 players, 30 have been retained from the existing core group, while the remaining have been selected from Assam Hockey, Hockey Chandigarh, Hockey Himachal, SAI, Hockey Bengal, UP Hockey, Hockey Jharkhand, Hockey Karnataka, Manipur Hockey, Hockey Punjab, Kerala Hockey, MP Hockey, CRPF, Odisha, CBDT, Hockey Mizoram, Hockey Maharashtra, and Hockey Andhra Pradesh.
Indian women’s team head coach Harendra Singh was present during the championship to assess the players. Regarding the selection, he said:
“We witnessed some extremely talented players during the championship. The selection for the camp is purely performance-based. This camp will help us understand how to prepare these players for the next level. From this 65-member group, we will shortlist 40 players for the upcoming FIH Hockey Pro League.
