CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President Jeetu Patwari has urged the office bearers of the state Congress, public representatives, and the lakhs of Congress members across the state to mandatorily hoist the national flag, the Tricolor, at their homes on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day on August 15th. He also requested the district/city and block Congress Committee presidents to honor at least 21 senior social workers, renowned intellectuals from various fields, and freedom fighters with a shawl and a coconut at the local level.
Mr. Patwari has directed the district/city Congress presidents through a letter to disseminate this message to every Congress member via local media and social media.
In another letter issued to all district, city, and block Congress presidents, as well as the presidents of Congress’s frontline organizations and departments, Mr. Patwari has given instructions to observe August 20, 2024, as Goodwill Day at the district and block levels on the occasion of the 80th birth anniversary of the popular leader, Bharat Ratna, and former Prime Minister, late Rajiv Gandhi.
Rajiv Singh, Vice President of the State Congress and in charge of the organization, stated that members of Parliament, former MPs, MLAs, former MLAs, office bearers of the state Congress, Congress representatives, Congress candidates for the 2023 Assembly and 2024 Lok Sabha elections, presidents of frontline organizations, departments, and cells, as well as the general public, should ensure their participation in the program to be held on August 20th. He also mentioned that in the morning, a garland should be placed on Rajiv Gandhi’s statue, and prayer meetings of all religions should be organized. Additionally, blood donation camps, tree plantation drives, and fruit distribution programs in hospitals should also be conducted.
