CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Holi Milan Celebration Held at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication
The Holi Milan celebration was organized at the Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, Makhanpuram Bishankhedi campus. On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Vijay Manohar Tiwari extended Holi greetings to all faculty members, officials, and staff.
In his address, Vice-Chancellor Tiwari made a special mention of a song and a nazm dedicated to Holi. He referenced the 1963 film “Godan,” where the legendary singer Mohammed Rafi sang the Holi song “Holi Khelat Nandlal, Biraj Mein Holi Khelat Nandlal.” Tiwari highlighted how this song, performed by Mehmood, beautifully depicted the spirit of Indian villages and introduced the essence of Holi to the entire nation through cinema. Additionally, he mentioned the nazm by Nazeer Akbarabadi, “Jab Phagun Rang Jhamakte Hain, Tab Dekh Baharein Holi,” which was melodiously sung by Chhaya Ganguly.
Praising India’s composite Ganga-Jamuni culture, Vice-Chancellor Tiwari extended Holi wishes to all attendees. The celebration continued with Chandan, Gulal, and Phoolon Ki Holi (Floral Holi).
On this occasion, Assistant Registrar Vivek Savarikar, Senior Assistant Professors Lokendra Singh, Ekta Birwa, Priyanka Sonkar, and Rahul Prajapati enthralled the audience with melodious Holi songs and poetry.
The event was attended by Registrar Avinash Vajpayee, Dean (Academics) P. Shashikala, Department Heads Pavitra Srivastava, Monika Verma, Aarti Sarang, Sanjeev Gupta, Rakhi Tiwari, Campus Mentor Manikanthan Nair, Director of Production Ashish Joshi, Controller of Examinations Rajesh Pathak, Director ASI Babita Agrawal, along with all faculty members, officials, and staff.
