CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reviewed law and order in the state in view of the upcoming festivals and gave clear instructions to officials that maintaining peace, security, and harmony is the government’s top priority. He also stated that Holika Dahan should be conducted only at non-controversial sites and that any form of negligence will not be tolerated.
The meeting, held via video conferencing from the Police Commissioner’s Office in Bhopal, was attended by the DGP, senior police officers, IGs, DIGs, and SPs from across the state. The Chief Minister directed heightened vigilance during the festivals, increased patrolling, activation of intelligence networks, and ensuring quick response mechanisms. He warned officials that any negligence or violation of rules would be unacceptable.
Chief Minister Yadav further stated that he would personally conduct surprise inspections of police stations and offices, and officials would be graded based on public feedback. In light of upcoming examinations, instructions were also given to enhance monitoring at exam centers, hostels, and sensitive areas.
Orders were issued for immediate action against bus operators charging excessive fares during the festival period, strict observance of dry days, and special monitoring in sensitive zones. Appreciating the police department’s achievements in making the state Naxal-free, the Chief Minister encouraged officials to adopt transparent and diligent operational practices.
All officials were instructed that public safety is paramount, and no incident during the festivals should affect the state’s peace or social harmony. The Chief Minister also emphasized that administrative vigilance, timely action, and comprehensive monitoring should be used to ensure the festivals are safe and joyous. This initiative is expected to be a significant step toward strengthening law and order, promoting social harmony, and ensuring citizen safety in the state.
