CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News / Agencies: A case has come to light in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, in which a patient who had gone for treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme was allegedly charged ₹15,000. Krishna Hospital in the city has been accused of taking cash from the patient despite the patient having an Ayushman card. According to the complaint, the hospital collected the amount without issuing a bill.

Through the Ayushman card, eligible beneficiaries are provided the benefit of prescribed treatment at empanelled hospitals under a cashless system. In such a situation, the allegation of taking an additional amount from a card-holding patient raises questions over the implementation of the scheme and the functioning of the hospital.

In the case, the patient’s side has alleged that ₹15,000 was taken without a bill. However, the hospital management’s version and detailed information on any inquiry or action by the department concerned have not yet come to light. If the allegations are confirmed, it could be a case of violation of the prescribed rules of the Ayushman scheme. For now, official confirmation of the allegations and information related to further action are awaited.
