Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and composer-singer Himesh Reshammiya have often been in the news for their relationship. The two were once considered close, but distance reportedly grew between them after an alleged incident during a concert. It is said that at an event held in Nagpur, the audience welcomed Himesh with more enthusiasm than Salman. Reports emerged that Salman was upset over the louder applause for Himesh.
The rift began with the Nagpur concert. According to media reports, in 2006, both artistes performed at an event in Nagpur. After the response Himesh received there, talk of an ego clash between the two surfaced. Reports later claimed that they stopped speaking and that their relationship had soured. Salman also made joking remarks on several occasions about Himesh’s voice and his nasal style of singing.
However, in an interview in 2007, Himesh rejected reports of a rift with Salman. Calling Salman his mentor, he said he loved and respected him a great deal.
A patch-up reportedly took place on the set of “Dus Ka Dum”. In September 2009, reports said their relationship had improved. The two met on the set of Salman’s show “Dus Ka Dum” at RK Studio. According to the report, Salman and Himesh hugged each other and met like old friends.
They were seen working together again with “Bodyguard”. After a gap of about six years, Himesh composed music for Salman’s film “Bodyguard”. The film’s song “Teri Meri” became highly popular. Later, the two also worked together on films such as “Kick” and “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo”. In several interviews, Himesh has described Salman as an important supporter in his career and the person who gave him his first big opportunity.
