CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal / Raipur : Chhattisgarh has emerged as a shining example in wildlife conservation, as the latest census reveals that the state’s tiger population has doubled over the past few years. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed immense pride over this achievement and emphasized that protecting wildlife remains a top priority for his government.
The doubling of tigers is attributed to improved forest management, anti-poaching measures, and enhanced patrolling in tiger reserves such as Udanti-Sitanadi and Indravati. CM Sai highlighted that the state government will continue to focus on preserving natural habitats, increasing community participation in conservation, and implementing stricter regulations to curb illegal hunting.
Experts say that this remarkable growth reflects the success of collaborative efforts between forest officials, local communities, and environmental organizations. The CM further promised additional funding and technology-based monitoring systems to ensure tigers thrive in the wild.
This milestone positions Chhattisgarh as one of India’s most successful tiger conservation states and provides hope for broader wildlife preservation across the country. CM Sai urged citizens to actively participate in wildlife protection initiatives and raise awareness about the importance of biodiversity.
With sustained efforts, Chhattisgarh aims not only to maintain this growth but also to set an example for other states in tiger and wildlife conservation.
