CNN Central News & Network – ITDC India Express / ITDC News Bhopal: On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi and Krishna Janmashtami, a Human Milk Bank was inaugurated at Dr. Kailashnath Katju (KNK) Hospital, Bhopal. The initiative aims to provide life-saving nutrition through mother’s milk to newborns, especially premature, weak, and sick babies.

Dr. Rachna Dubey, Nodal Officer at KNK Hospital, stated that this step is a ray of hope for infants who, due to certain reasons, cannot receive their mother’s milk. The milk bank will safely pasteurize donated breast milk from mothers and make it available for newborns. This will help reduce infant mortality rates and improve maternal and child health. She emphasized that this is an important step to ensure that no baby is deprived of mother’s milk.

This facility will be available exclusively for patients admitted to Dr. Kailashnath Katju Hospital. During the inauguration ceremony, Hospital Superintendent Dr. Balram Upadhyay, Milk Bank In-charge Dr. Smita Saxena, along with other experts, doctors, and staff members, were present.
