CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the guidance of Executive Director Ajay Singh, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at AIIMS Bhopal organized a workshop on Basic and Advanced Hysteroscopy, aiming to enhance skills in minimally invasive surgery. The workshop provided in-depth knowledge on the principles, techniques, and practical applications of hysteroscopy to participants and leading specialists in the field.
Highlighting the importance of the event, Prof. Ajay Singh remarked, “Hysteroscopy is a vital procedure in modern gynecology, and such workshops aim to equip healthcare professionals with essential expertise.”
What is Hysteroscopy?
Hysteroscopy is a medical procedure used to diagnose and treat uterine problems. It involves inserting a thin, lighted tube with a camera into the uterus, allowing doctors to closely examine the uterine cavity and detect abnormalities.
Workshop Highlights
The workshop was organized under the supervision of Dr. K. Pushpalata, Head of the Department. It began with a lecture on “Basics of Hysteroscopy and Instruments” by Dr. Bharti Singh, providing a strong foundation on essential tools and techniques for successful procedures.
One of the key attractions of the workshop was the live transmission of diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy cases from the operating theater, managed by a team of experts including Milind Telang, Bharti Singh, Arun Dora, and Avantika Gupta, supported by anesthetists Zainab and Harish.

“Office Hysteroscopy (See and Treat)” by Milind Telang, focusing on office-based hysteroscopy techniques.
“Fluid Management and Principles of Electrosurgery in Hysteroscopy” by Director Ajay Haldar.
“Complications in Hysteroscopy” by Arun Dora.
“Latest Advances in Hysteroscopy” by Neetu Mishra.
Hands-On Training
Participants received hands-on training in the skills lab, utilizing hystero trainers and simulators to practice real-time scenarios.
Conclusion
The workshop concluded with a Q&A session, followed by the distribution of certificates to all participants. This comprehensive training equipped attendees with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to advance their expertise in hysteroscopy, ultimately aiming to improve patient care in gynecological practices.
