CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress / Bhopal: The two-day “39th Annual Convention” of IATO will be held in Bhopal from August 30. A delegation along with IATO President Rajiv Mehra met Chief Minister Mohan Yadav at CM House with the aim of establishing Madhya Pradesh as a major tourist destination on the world stage.
National level tour and travel operators from across the country including tourism boards of various states will participate in the annual convention. This will definitely increase the number of foreign tourists in the state. The delegation was accompanied by Vice President Ravi Gosain and IATO Madhya Pradesh Chapter President Mahendra Pratap Singh.
The delegation discussed with Chief Minister Yadav the subject of promoting cultural, historical heritage and rural tourism prominently along with wildlife tourism in Madhya Pradesh. The delegation greeted Chief Minister Yadav with a shawl and bouquet. Describing the organization of the 39th Annual Convention of IATO as a good effort, Chief Minister Yadav assured all possible cooperation.
During the 39th Annual Convention, various events and activities such as business sessions, Tourism Mart, Marketing Innovation Competition, Run for Responsible Tourism, Cultural Evenings, Social Events will be organized. The convention will be a great opportunity to showcase their products among tourism professionals and senior bureaucrats from across the country. Around 20 State Tourism Departments and more than 1000 stakeholders from across the country are expected to participate in the convention.
IATO organizes its annual conference in various cities every year to promote tourism in the state based on the wide membership of travel agents and tour operators from all over the country. IATO has so far held 38 annual conferences in various states. All the States where IATO Conferences have been held have benefited immensely from the increase in foreign and domestic tourist arrivals by 30-35%.
