CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal’s Executive Director and CEO, (Dr.) Ajay Singh, proudly congratulated postgraduate (MD) student Dr. Karmugil Tamil from the Biochemistry Department for receiving the highly competitive ICMR-PG Thesis 2023 financial assistance. Out of over 1,000 applicants, Dr. Karmugil was awarded a grant of 1 lakh rupees for his exceptional research proposal.
Dr. Karmugil’s research will focus on evaluating serum IgA levels in patients treated at AIIMS Bhopal for chronic rhinosinusitis and bronchiectasis, conditions that significantly impact the Indian population. The findings from this research are expected to contribute to better management and treatment strategies for these diseases.
Prof. Ajay Singh expressed his admiration for Dr. Karmugil’s dedication and the potential impact of his research. “This achievement not only highlights the academic excellence of our students but also underscores AIIMS Bhopal’s commitment to advancing medical research that addresses critical health issues in India. Dr. Karmugil’s research will be conducted under the expert guidance of Dr. Ashwin Kotnis from the Biochemistry Department, with co-guidance from Dr. Vikas Gupta, Additional Professor, and Dr. Shaila Sidam, Associate Professor of Otorhinolaryngology. The research team also includes Dr. Alkesh Khurana, Professor of Pulmonary Medicine, and Dr. Jagat R. Kanwar, Professor of Biochemistry.
