Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will hold its 39th convocation ceremony on 7 April 2026 at 11:00 AM. During the ceremony, degrees will be awarded to students who have successfully completed diploma, postgraduate diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs in the December 2024 and June 2025 session-end examinations.
The main ceremony will take place at the headquarters in New Delhi, where the Vice President of India, C. P. Radhakrishnan, will attend as the chief guest and deliver the convocation address. This year, a total of 3,24,835 students across the country will receive degrees, including approximately 41.7% at the undergraduate level and 40.8% at the postgraduate level. Additionally, 73 researchers will be awarded PhD degrees. Convocation ceremonies will also be simultaneously organized at 56 regional centers nationwide, making this a large-scale event.
Under the Bhopal regional center, degrees will be awarded to a total of 3,063 students from 31 districts. These include 1,083 master’s level, 773 undergraduate, 646 PG diploma and diploma, and 561 certificate program students. Notably, 783 students associated with the Model Study Center Code-1500 will receive degrees, which is higher compared to previous years.
The Bhopal convocation ceremony will be held at the auditorium of the regional center in Arera Hills, where Prof. Ravindra Ramchandra Kanhere will be present as the distinguished guest. Degrees will be awarded in person to students of selected programs, while others will receive their degrees via mail.
