CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the last date for admission to the July 2025 session till August 15. Students can apply online for admission to over 330 programs, including undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, postgraduate diploma, and six-month certificate courses through the portal https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Additionally, the deadline for re-registration for the second-year semester has also been extended to August 15.

Senior Regional Director Umesh Chandra Pandey informed that the IGNOU Bhopal Regional Centre is planning to organize talk shows and interviews through the “Vanya” community radio to promote higher education in tribal areas. The initiative aims to connect youth with quality and accessible education.

Under the National Education Policy 2020, IGNOU has launched 3-year Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BSc) programs at the undergraduate level, enabling students to earn honors degrees with multidisciplinary options. The BA offers 14 humanities subjects and the BSc includes 7 science subjects, all available in both Hindi and English.

Additional Director Anshuman Upadhyay shared that the “Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education” program imparts practical knowledge on child development, nutrition, health, and childcare services. The course emphasizes understanding the developmental needs of children aged 0 to 6 years and includes project work. It is available in Hindi, English, and Tamil.

Similarly, the “Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education” is beneficial for those working in the fields of nutrition and public health. It is available in both open learning and online modes.
