CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and CISCO today signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the IGNOU Headquarters in New Delhi, marking a partnership aimed at enhancing digital skills and employability for learners across the country.
The MoU was exchanged during the university’s 40th Foundation Day celebration, attended by Professor Peter Scott, President and CEO of the Commonwealth of Learning, Vancouver, Canada; Professor Uma Kanjilal, Vice-Chancellor, IGNOU; Shri Anurag Srivastava, senior officials, faculty members, and invited guests.
As part of this collaboration, IGNOU and CISCO will jointly set up a CISCO Networking Center of Excellence at IGNOU, develop industry-ready training programs, and offer learning pathways in networking, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
The initiative aims to increase access to high-quality digital learning and strengthen the skilling ecosystem nationwide.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Uma Kanjilal, Vice-Chancellor of IGNOU, said:
“This partnership brings new energy to our mission of delivering knowledge to every learner. By joining hands with CISCO , we are creating pathways that help our students acquire essential digital skills for today’s world. This collaboration will make education more inclusive, flexible, and relevant for the future of work.”
The collaboration is expected to benefit learners across IGNOU’s vast network and help build a strong talent pipeline aligned with the needs of India’s digital economy.
