CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the admission deadline for the July 2025 session till September 15, 2025. Interested students can apply online for undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and one-year postgraduate diploma programs through https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in

The last date for re-registration has also been extended till September 15 with a late fee of ₹200. Students seeking admission into the second year or semester can also complete their re-registration online.

Dr. Anshuman Upadhyay, Additional Director of IGNOU Regional Centre, Bhopal, informed that for the July session, IGNOU is offering 78 postgraduate courses, 26 four-year undergraduate programs, 22 general and honors-level subjects, and 66 postgraduate diploma programs. In addition, several skill-based and employment-oriented diploma programs are available.

Some of the major courses offered by IGNOU include Information Security, Disaster and Risk Management, Bhagavad Gita Studies, Urban Studies, Diaspora and Migration Studies, Geography, Geoinformatics, Smart City Development, Rural Development, Social Work, and Journalism. These programs aim to equip students with both knowledge and professional as well as ethical competence.

According to Dr. Upadhyay, the Information Security course teaches personal data protection and cybersecurity technologies in the digital era. The Disaster and Risk Management program has been designed in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The Bhagavad Gita Studies course is particularly useful for police personnel and youth for spiritual development. The Geography and Geoinformatics programs have been developed in collaboration with prestigious institutions such as ISRO, DRDO, IIT, and C-DAC, focusing on training students in environmental studies, resource management, and technical expertise.

Dr. Upadhyay further added that as per the latest UGC guidelines, students can now pursue two degrees/diplomas/certificates simultaneously. Interested students can visit www.ignou.ac.in
