CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bhopal: The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Bhopal enthusiastically celebrated its 10th Foundation Day on its campus, marking a successful decade of academic excellence, innovation and social engagement. The programme was organised on the theme, “Indian knowledge tradition and innovation for social equality and sustainable development,” and saw enthusiastic participation from around 70 students, faculty members, staff and guests.

The event began with an inaugural session, followed by an expert lecture by chief guest Sadanand Sapre, former professor at MANIT, Bhopal. In his address, Sapre stressed the need to communicate the principles of the Indian knowledge tradition to every section of society in simple and accessible language. Highlighting India’s rich ancient knowledge heritage, he underlined the need to carry it forward to the younger generation and emphasized its importance in nation-building and sustainable development.

As part of the programme, students organised a theme-based poster exhibition showcasing innovative ideas. Participants also actively took part in an on-the-spot MCQ quiz and various cultural activities, making the event intellectually enriching and culturally engaging.

On the occasion, Sameer Kumar, Deputy Registrar, IIIT Bhopal, said that India’s traditional knowledge systems offer important guidance for addressing current social challenges and promoting inclusive development. Gaurav Khanna, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology, highlighted the role of technology and innovation in transforming the principles of the Indian knowledge tradition into practical solutions for sustainable development and social welfare.

A special attraction of the programme was the “My Vision for Viksit Bharat 2047” vision board, on which participants wrote their ideas, aspirations and resolutions for a developed, inclusive and self-reliant India. The programme concluded with prize distribution and refreshments, and participants reiterated their collective commitment to knowledge-based innovation, sustainable development and nation-building.

The 10th Foundation Day celebration reflected IIIT Bhopal’s continued commitment to academic excellence, innovation, social responsibility and the resolve for Viksit Bharat 2047.

The Foundation Day celebration was successfully organised by the organising committee comprising Gaurav Khanna (Department of Information Technology), J. S. Rana (Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering), Sunil Kumar (Department of Physics) and Neeraj Kumar Giri (Department of Physics). The committee successfully coordinated the academic, cultural and student participation activities related to the event.
