New Delhi. The Ministry of Education has invited applications for appointment to the post of director at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. Interested and eligible candidates can apply until October 31, 2026. The director will be the academic and administrative head of the institute.
For the post, candidates must have a PhD and a first-class degree or equivalent qualification in the preceding degree. Applicants must have at least 10 years of teaching experience as a professor at a reputed engineering or technology institute or university. Guidance of PhD students and at least five years of administrative experience are also expected. A fixed salary of Rs 2.25 lakh per month has been prescribed for the director’s post. Allowances will also be provided as per rules. The appointment will be for five years or until the candidate attains the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier.
Along with the application, candidates will have to submit a detailed curriculum vitae, a two-page justification in support of their candidature and a two-page vision statement for IIT Delhi. Candidates working in government departments, autonomous institutions and public sector undertakings will have to apply through the proper channel. Professor Rangan Banerjee is currently the director of IIT Delhi. The recruitment process will be completed on the basis of the recommendation of the search-cum-selection committee and the approval of the competent authority.
