CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the guidance of Pankaj Tyagi, Divisional Railway Manager of the Indian Railways Bhopal Division, and the direction of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria, a special joint campaign is being conducted in the Bhopal Division to prevent illegal vending at railway stations, check the quality of food items, and curb the possible supply of prohibited items such as liquor, gutka, cigarettes, and other illegal products by onboard housekeeping staff, linen staff, pantry/catering staff, and vendors in trains.
As part of this campaign, joint teams comprising officials and staff from the Commercial Department, Mechanical Department, and the Railway Protection Force are conducting inspections on various trains.
During the campaign, special monitoring is being carried out on the activities of onboard housekeeping staff, linen staff, pantry/catering staff, and vendors working in trains. The objective is to prevent the availability of any illegal items to passengers and to ensure a safe, disciplined, and secure travel environment for railway passengers.
During inspections, if any individual or agency is found involved in illegal activities, strict action will be taken against them under the provisions of the Railway Act.
The railway administration has also appealed to passengers that if they come across any illegal activity or the sale of prohibited items during their journey, they should immediately inform the concerned railway authorities or the Railway Protection Force.
