CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Innovations and new concepts are being promoted in the railway sector to increase non-fare revenue. In this effort, under the guidance of the General Manager, the key department heads are taking necessary steps to enhance innovations and new concepts across all three divisions. As a result, the commercial department of West Central Railway is playing a significant role in generating revenue through Non-Fare Revenue (NFR) schemes. In July, contracts related to catering, parking, Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra, and other NFR activities were executed across the Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Kota divisions, resulting in an additional revenue of ₹3 crore 99 lakh 06 thousand.

The following contracts were executed under non-fare revenue in July:

Revenue of ₹1 crore 01 lakh from catering:

In the Jabalpur division, contracts were awarded for 13 multi-purpose stalls through e-auction for five years, including 2 at Jabalpur station, 4 at Katni station, 3 at Katni Mudwara station, and 1 each at Satna, Damoh, Madan Mahal, and Shridham stations. These contracts are expected to generate an additional annual revenue of ₹1 crore 01 lakh for the railway.

Revenue of ₹1 crore 84 lakh 76 thousand from parking:

In the Jabalpur division, a three-year contract for parking at Jabalpur station was awarded through e-auction, which will generate an additional annual revenue of ₹1 crore 01 lakh.

In the Bhopal division, contracts for parking on platform no. 01 side of Bhopal station and platform no. 01 side of Bina station were awarded for three years through e-auction, expected to generate additional annual revenue of ₹81 lakh 11 thousand and ₹2 lakh 65 thousand, respectively.

Revenue of ₹72 thousand from Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra:

In the Jabalpur division, a three-year contract for a Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra at Katni station was awarded through e-auction, which will generate an additional annual revenue of ₹15 thousand.

In the Bhopal division, a three-year contract for a Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra at the circulating area on platform no. 01 side of Bhopal station was awarded, expected to generate additional annual revenue of ₹1,500.

In the Kota division, a three-year contract for a Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra at Kota station was awarded, expected to generate additional annual revenue of ₹56 thousand.

Revenue of ₹1 crore 12 lakh 58 thousand from other Non-Fare Revenue sources:

In the Kota division, a three-year contract for vinyl wrapping on train no. 12059/60 was awarded through e-auction, which will generate additional annual revenue of ₹70 lakh.

In the Kota division, a three-year contract for commercial advertising on unipoles/hoardings at Amli station, Modak, Ramganj Mandi, Bhawani Mandi, Gangapur City, and Kota stations was awarded, generating a total revenue of ₹26 lakh 06 thousand. Similarly, a three-year contract for advertising through mobile charging points on all platforms at Kota station was awarded through e-auction, expected to generate additional annual revenue of ₹14 lakh 50 thousand.

In the Kota division, a three-year contract for the staff canteen at the Divisional Railway Manager’s office was awarded through e-auction, generating additional annual revenue of ₹2 lakh 02 thousand. West Central Railway is committed to implementing new schemes based on innovations to continue increasing non-fare revenue in the future.
