CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In the Department of Agriculture at Rabindranath Tagore University, a seven-day scientific beekeeping training program concluded. This training, conducted in collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture and B-World India, was supported by the National Agricultural Extension Management Institute, Hyderabad, “Financially Supported by Training Partners,” the National Beekeeping Mission (NBM), and the National Bee Board. The training covered scientific methods of beekeeping.

At this event, the University’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Rajni Kant, special guest Mr. Praveen Raghuvanshi, founder of B-World India, Dr. H.D. Varma, the head of the Agriculture Department, Dr. Ashok Kumar Varma, Dr. Swapnil Kumar Pandey, department coordinator, were present. Dr. Varma, the head of the Agriculture Department, welcomed the chief guests.

Varma emphasized the current necessity of beekeeping, which plays a vital role in crop pollination, enhancing crop productivity. Dr. Ashok Kumar Varma, the department head, introduced all the scientists and organizers, outlining the program. As the keynote speaker, Dr. Sanjeev Varma, Scientist, Agricultural Science Center, Betul, discussed the history of beekeeping, along with Anil Mevada, who highlighted the importance of beekeeping. Dr. Ashish Srivastava, Assistant Professor, College of Agriculture, Ganjbasoda, talked about preventing and controlling pests and diseases in bees. Mr. Anand Patel provided information about colony development in bees, followed by a visit to Amone Farm, Sukhi Sevania, Bhopal, where detailed information about another special species of bee, Apis mellifera, was obtained. Mr. Jeetendra Pawar provided information about the machinery used in beekeeping.

On the final day, participants were encouraged to explore employment opportunities and become entrepreneurs. Mr. Praveen Raghuvanshi, founder of B-World India, shared information about his startup and assured technical assistance in the future. The program concluded with best wishes from Dr. Vijay Singh, Secretary of RNTU, who encouraged participants to present their innovations at the University Atal Incubation Center. The program was conducted by Dr. Manohar Saryam and gratitude was expressed by Dr. Rishikesh Mandaloi, Assistant Professor.
