CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal : In the committee room at the Ministry, a meeting of the Department of Technical Education was held to conduct a detailed review of various departmental activities, implementation, and progress of works. During the meeting, the status of construction projects under the department and works approved after SFC were reviewed, and necessary directions were issued. Instructions were given for the speedy resolution of pension cases of teachers already appointed to higher posts under the Service Recruitment Rules, 2004. It was directed to re-examine and update the autonomy rules of government technical institutions to make them more contemporary.

Directions were also issued to ensure the continuous functioning of the University Institute of Technology (UIT) at the Jhabua campus of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya. Recruitment of academic posts in technical institutions, as per AICTE standards, and timely fulfillment of human resource requirements for laboratories and other facilities were emphasized.

The meeting stressed the need for curriculum development aligned with industry requirements, based on a comprehensive study of regional needs and demands. It was also directed to integrate India’s traditional knowledge systems into the curriculum. A comprehensive action plan was called for to teach Japanese and German languages to students in technical institutions, enabling them to achieve linguistic ease in communication for employment opportunities in these countries while also strengthening cultural ties between nations.

Other discussions included the establishment of MPIT on the lines of IITs, coding labs, digital universities, progress of the National Defense University, status of research, innovation, and patents in institutions, availability of technical dictionaries, development of “Vidya Vans” (knowledge forests) in campuses, setting up UIT under RGPV at Shujalpur, and progress of the “Srujan” program under Innovate MP. The meeting also issued directives on these matters. Principal Secretary of Technical Education Manish Singh, Commissioner of Technical Education Avdhesh Sharma, and other departmental officials were present.
